Liis Anton is a young talent from Estonia. She’s a fashion photographer, but also a styilist, a makeup artist and a model herself. I asked her some questions about her passion…Here are the answers!
You professionally deal with photography, fashion and styling. Tell me a little bit of your background…
I received my first camera when I was 13, started with portrait/nature photography when I was 14 and then also moved on to digital SRL cameras. When I got 15 I became obsessed with fashion and fashion photography. This summer I started working on my portfolio and photographed a bunch of models. Though, all these years I have always taken self-portraits. Simply because I didn’t have any models and if I did, I still knew what to do myself better.
You are both a photographer and a model. How does your role change behind and in front of the camera?
It doesn’t change much, I think. As a photographer I can control everything from the angles to make-up/styling to poses of the model. When I model myself, the control of the camera is very limited. Though I can still control everything else.
As a make-up artist, do you get inspiration from someone or something in particular for your creations?
My inspiration comes very spontaneously. Mostly right before I start to putting make-up on someone or myself. Face structure inspires me. Sometimes I just imagine some type of make-up in my head and draw it down for future.
Could you describe your typical day?
I’m studying at school and if I have some editing to do on my photos, I’ll have some time to do that too.
How could you define your style?
Uniqueness, distinction and perfection. These three are my goal.
To be or to appear?
To appear. Being is temporary, but you can appear for centuries.
Finally…What are your future plans?
Time will tell. I have a lot going on and a lot of options. I want to accomplish something greater than great. There are just so many things I’d like to do in life, but one thing’s for sure - you’ll hear more about me soon.
